Grace that Follows
“Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life”
How many of us are truly convinced that no matter what happens in our lives we are being followed by God’s goodness and mercy?
“Follow” literally means “to chase” God never promises us immunity from life’s tragedies and hardships. We live in a fallen world.
Joy in spite of……
Goodness and Mercy in spite of…….
JOHN 16: 33
Joseph
His story is a classic example of how God is able to bring good out of evil. Genesis 50: 19-21
Romans 8: 28
God is in the business of working all things for His good and your good if you’ trust Him. Joseph passed on goodness and mercy to others
Jesus
He went around doing good and showing mercy to those society shunned, like tax collectors and prostitutes.
Matthew 9: 10-13
Jesus’ goodness and mercy took Him to a cross.
In your place and mine His goodness and mercy followed to the point of sacrificing Himself so that you and I might know forgiveness
We are not just saved FROM our sins but we are saved TO a new life in Christ and that means Christians ought to be leaving goodness and mercy behind as a legacy to others wherever they go.
Galatians 5: 22-23
Think about what you leave behind you?
- Peace or Turmoil?
- Forgiveness or Resentment?
- Contentment or Conflict?
- Joy or Gloom?
- Love or Judgment?
Sheep
Keep weeds down
Fertilise the soil
God’s GOODNESS and MERCY follow you every day
Psalm 23: 6
EVERY DAY!
